MGT 313 Operations Management (3 Credits)

Operations management is concerned with the design, planning, direction and control of all the facilities, processes and activities required to transform labor, capital, materials, energy, and skills into performance and delivery of goods and services. Most people think of operations management in terms of factories that produce products, but our concerns also include services and the full range of resource-based industries.

Operations managers have the direct responsibility of getting the job done. This is in addition to the usual management responsibilities of planning, organizing and controlling. They must provide the leadership to produce the product or service demanded by the customer
