My Experience at AIU

Let me start by thanking AIU team for developing this strategically relevant and globally effective mode of learning which does not only make full use of information technology but effectively allowed for knowledge creation and learning within the domain of my personal globe.

I was suppose to enroll in a traditional university for my degree (Information Technology) did not because I had to quit my job and I was not possible as I had no scholarship and was paying for my self. I had to abort the program as it was more structured for someone who is not only single but otherwise unemployed and sponsored.

I went into the internet for a University that would be more acquiescent to my situation; this resulted in my decision to enroll at AIU. The structure of AIU program was ideal for me and has given my family obligations and my demanding job as a Program Development Coordinator in Botswana College of Distance and Open Learning more flexibility and more time to research and have an in-depth of my profession.  My work environment involves assessing market/public skills needs for IT, through questionnaires and face to face interviews of the general public and potential clients, developing course content, based on market survey, and indicating topics of course and undertaking necessary research to ensure course content meets acceptable standards. This also includes developing student centered learning materials and assessment instruments that are suitable for ODL/DE, with student activities, graphics.

The design of my curriculum was another exciting feature of the program as my coursework was strategically formulated to cater specifically to my professional needs as compared to many institutions of higher learning.

Le me also mention that feedback from my advisor was consistent and timely, helping to keep me motivated and informative communications sent by student services from time to time kept me up to date with latest developments of global significance.
